In a new series titled the Road to Success, we take a look back at some of the outstanding entries and winners of the Daman Corporate Health and Wellness Awards to help individuals and organisations learn from them and implement some of these winning strategies.
In this feature, we take a closer look at the Eternity and their winning entry for the Corporate Wellness Partner of the Year at the 2017 awards.
A digital approach to prevention
Healthcare is typically delivered on a reactive basis. You wait until a person is sick, then you treat the illness.
Eternity medicine wanted to introduce and promote a proactive approach to healthcare by making use of digital technology.
With an innovative proprietary software platform, an interactive app and regular detailed screening, the company has been able to produce reports that track the effectiveness of corporate wellness initiatives, provide health forecasts and even generate health targets.
This enables organisations and individuals to predict potential problems and put into place measures to prevent illness from developing.
Eternity provides familiar services such as fitness classes, stress management and corporate wellness programmes, but it also wanted to go beyond that to give clients something that would revolutionise the attitude to wellness in the region.
On-board analytical tools in your car tell you when the air pressure in your tyre is low, company accountants spend a lot of time monitoring the health of a company.
Why should we not take the same approach to our own wellbeing? As an estimated 80% of chronic disease is preventable, Eternity believes that accurate, predictive health screening would enhance and prolong many peoples’ lives.
To achieve this, healthcare professionals take a detailed medical history of an individual. They then conduct repeatable physical tests on health markers such as blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol levels.
The results, along with data collected from surveys about client satisfaction, stress, and engagement levels, are processed by an innovative software platform that automates the patient database, including prescriptions and doctor recommendations.
A detailed report is then prepared that highlights every health detail of the company including vital information such as the number of employees with hypertension, or the percentage of employees who smoke. Initiatives, such as smoking cessation programmes, can then be put in place to address any issues that are of particular concern.
Eternity stated that it would like the UAE to be at the forefront of digital healthcare and the leaders in Corporate Wellness and Job Satisfaction.
UAE’s fast and flexible market makes it the perfect candidate for this change.
